Paulina Porizkova recently shared her joy over the wedding of her son Jonathan, highlighting a meaningful tribute to his parents during the celebration. Jonathan Otcasek, the 30-year-old son of Porizkova and the late Cars frontman Ric Ocasek, married his longtime partner Erin Kim on October 11 in New York City.
According to The New York Times, the couple met a decade ago, and their wedding was a culmination of their enduring relationship. In an Instagram post on October 25, Porizkova, 59, expressed how moved she was by the couple’s choice of their first dance song.

They selected “Emotion in Motion,” a solo hit by Ric from 1986 that was originally written for Porizkova when their romance began. “At the Rainbow Room, where they hosted their dream reception, the first chords of the song filled the air, bringing tears to the eyes of everyone present,” she wrote.
“This track, created by Jonathan’s father in honor of me, resonated deeply. Ric’s voice, music, and lyrics captured both his presence and absence, wrapping the room in a sense of love as the newlyweds danced.”
She reflected on the emotional moment, noting how the glowing atmosphere inside the venue, with its grand windows, felt like a cocoon of happiness. “The love between them was undeniable—binding them, lifting them, and surrounding everyone in that space.
In the end, love is truly all that matters,” she concluded. Porizkova’s post also included a clip of Jonathan and Erin dancing at the Rainbow Room, kissing as they celebrated their union in matching white attire.
The couple’s ceremony took place at the Unitarian Church of All Souls in Manhattan, followed by a reception with 130 guests. Their wedding blended Korean and Czech elements, reflecting both of their backgrounds. Jonathan, a video game designer, shared with The New York Times that Erin, a lawyer, became a pillar of support for him after his father died in 2019.
“Erin’s mind is incredible—sharp and insightful in a way I’ve never encountered. She reads something once and offers the most nuanced understanding of it, whether it’s literature or people,” Jonathan said.
Porizkova also mentioned in the interview that she and her boyfriend Jeff Greenstein often turn to Jonathan and Erin for advice on relationships. “I get pretty competitive during board games, but Jonathan and Erin always play as a team,” she shared.
She added with a smile, “Everything they do is done as ‘Team Jonathan Erin.'” Porizkova and Ric Ocasek were married for 28 years before announcing their separation in May 2018, just over a year before Ric’s death at 75. Along with Jonathan, the former couple also shares another son, Oliver.
