The relationship between Chad “Ocho Cinco” Johnson and Sharelle Rosado appears to have come to an end. On October 26, Rosado, 37, announced via a post on X (formerly Twitter) that she and the former NFL player, who got engaged in early 2023 and share a two-year-old daughter named Serenity, are “no longer together.”
“Chad and I are no longer together; please stop tagging us,” she stated in her message, which she also shared on Instagram. She humorously added, “He is a free man, ladies.”

Johnson, 46, responded to her announcement on X by reposting her statement along with a GIF from Arrested Development, depicting George Michael (played by Michael Cera) looking glum while walking with his head down. Representatives for both Johnson and Rosado did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Previously, the couple had shown mutual support on social media just days before, on October 16, when Rosado shared a post from Johnson promoting his upcoming appearance on the game show Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, hosted by Travis Kelce.
Their breakup news comes shortly after Johnson shared an interaction he had with David Beckham, during which he inquired about the key to Beckham’s lasting marriage to his wife, Victoria. “Honestly, I asked about marriage and how they were able to last so long,” the retired wide receiver recounted in an X post. “He gave me a long speech and used the word PATIENCE many times.”
On the same day, Johnson posted a photo on X of a McDonald’s bag captioned “Date night,” accompanied by a smiley face emoji with hearts. However, Rosado was neither featured in the photo nor tagged.
The former couple got engaged on January 7, 2023, which they exclusively confirmed to PEOPLE. “I’m honestly shocked!” Rosado expressed to PEOPLE at the time. “I’m at a loss for words.”
Before their official engagement, the pair had been referring to each other as “fiancés” for some time. Johnson proposed in front of family and friends in Miami, presenting Rosado with an oval-cut, 7.5-carat engagement ring during what he described as an early birthday celebration for himself, where 20 guests were hidden to witness the moment.
“This was absolutely beautiful, and to see my family and friends here to celebrate our love really did it for me,” Rosado told PEOPLE after the proposal. She also expressed her surprise at the gesture, noting, “He is definitely not a planner, so for him to pull this off for me is so amazing. Just the thought he put into this and having our family and friends here to witness says a lot.”
At that time, Rosado described the engagement as “the next step of our beautiful journey together,” adding that she felt emotional because Johnson had always told her, “I’m going to make you my wife.” “Although in my heart I knew we were always meant to be, now that it’s official, it’s even more special than I could have ever dreamed,” she remarked.
