Kody Brown and his three ex-wives have expressed markedly different perspectives regarding the end of their marriages. In the episode of Sister Wives that aired on Sunday, Oct. 27, Kody, aged 55, had a conversation with ex-wife Meri Brown, her sister, and her brother-in-law after assisting Meri with moving furniture from her home, which she plans to give to family.
Meri, 53, is preparing to leave her Flagstaff, Arizona property to return to Utah, where she will focus on managing her bed and breakfast, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn. During their discussion about their split, Kody took a moment to reflect on his second wife, Janelle Brown, stating that she is “not interested in a relationship.”

Meri’s sister challenged him by pointing out that Kody framed the situation as Meri, Janelle, and his third wife, Christine Brown, having “left” him, despite his earlier assertions of disinterest in pursuing relationships with them.
In a confessional, Kody admitted, “I’m guilty of marrying people I wasn’t in love with.” In a separate segment, Janelle criticized Kody’s assertion that he never loved any of his three ex-wives, suggesting he might be suffering from selective memory about the past. “You just can’t keep up that kind of pretense for 20 years,” she remarked.
“I know what happened. He can say whatever he wants,” added Janelle, 55. “It’s fine because I just don’t care anymore.” Echoing similar sentiments, Meri shared in her confessional that Kody’s current narrative is that he never loved her, Janelle, or Christine. “It’s getting to the point that it’s annoying,” she expressed. “Gosh, Kody, just man up and be honest.”
Much of the Oct. 27 episode centered on Kody and Meri, who engaged in a candid conversation about their relationship’s breakdown and their current status. At one point, the businesswoman, who maintained a friendly and often humorous demeanor with Kody throughout the episode, remarked, “I know that I put everything that I could into it, and I would still put into it.
But I also recognize that it’s not something that is comfortable for him or right for him or good for him, and that’s not fair to either of us.”Nevertheless, Meri considers the process of obtaining an official church divorce to be “good,” even if Kody “might say otherwise.” Kody, surprisingly, admitted that he found the divorce from Meri to be “sad,” describing it as the “end of an era.”
“It’s still sad when it doesn’t work,” he reflected. Kody is currently married to his fourth wife, Robyn Brown. Although he acknowledged that he and Robyn, 45, are “having our own struggle” at the moment, he believes that his marriage with her is better than what he experienced with his three ex-wives.
As the episode also showcased Christine searching for wedding venues with her boyfriend David Woolley just two months into their relationship, Kody commented on the “rumors” surrounding Christine’s quest for her soulmate.
“I’m offended for her on the idea that she would be stuck with me for eternity when her soulmate was out there to be found,” he stated. “I don’t always know what to believe. The eternal marriage… Jesus said not to get divorced, but it’s a big concept,” he later added.
“I don’t know what to think about it other than it offends me to think that I would be stuck with those three women. It literally does. It’s like it offends me to think that God would cause me or them to suffer.”
