Jenna Dewan is fully embracing the role of a dance mom, and it’s become a delightful family event. Over the weekend, the Step Up star, 43, attended the Celtic Irish Dance Academy’s Championships to cheer on her eldest daughter, 11-year-old Everly. Dewan shared highlights from the day on her Instagram Stories.
She began her posts with a snapshot of Everly, whom she shares with ex-husband Channing Tatum, enjoying the competition with a friend who is also a dancer. Dewan also included moments featuring her youngest child, 4-month-old Rhiannon, who was part of the action as well.
In behind-the-scenes footage, Steve Kazee, Dewan’s fiancé and the father of Rhiannon and their 4-year-old son Callum, helped Rhiannon emulate Everly’s dance moves. The actor, 48, lifted Rhiannon, making it look as if she was dancing too.
As the baby gazed into the camera, Dewan laughed and shifted her focus from Rhiannon to Everly’s fellow competitors, who were preparing to perform. Adding a playful touch, she captioned one of her posts with a dancer emoji: “💃🏻.” Dewan also posted candid photos of herself and Kazee during the dance championships.
In one image, she reclined on the ground with her toddler, captioning it “Dance mom life.” Another photo highlighted Kazee’s parenting skills, showcasing him lovingly cuddling the 4-month-old. Dewan humorously noted that he is “the only person who looks good in the terrible ballroom lighting” typical of Irish dance competitions.
These behind-the-scenes glimpses came shortly after both Dewan and Tatum, 44, who is now engaged to Zoë Kravitz, celebrated Everly’s success in another Irish dance competition last month.
After the preteen brought home two impressive trophies from the September event, her parents took to Instagram to share their pride. Tatum posted a series of photos capturing Everly’s celebration, exclaiming, “There are absolutely no words for how proud I am of this lil girl!!! I’m freaking out maaaaannn!!!! 🥇 🥇.”
Meanwhile, Dewan expressed her admiration for Everly on her Instagram Stories, sharing a picture of her daughter standing proudly in front of the podium with her two awards. “YESSSS EVIEEEEEE!!! So proud of you!!” she exclaimed. “Loved watching you shine so bright up there.”
