An $8.55 million sale has been confirmed for the Los Angeles residence where Matthew Perry passed away. This off-market transaction occurred nearly a year after the Friends star’s death on October 28, 2023.
Situated in the Pacific Palisades area of L.A., the property boasts four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and spans approximately 3,500 square feet, as reported by the New York Times. Perry acquired the home for $6 million in 2020, according to the same source.

The listing for Perry’s estate was managed by Greg Holcombe of Carolwood Estates, while Brooke Elliott Laurinkus of Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California represented the buyer, who is movie producer and real estate developer Anita Verma-Lallian.
The actor, who died at 54, succumbed to acute effects of the prescription drug ketamine, based on an autopsy report obtained by PEOPLE in December 2023. He was discovered unresponsive in a hot tub at his residence in Los Angeles.
Following his death, a source informed PEOPLE that Perry had recently made renovations to the home and expressed immense happiness living there. The source added that he described his residence as “heaven.”
Additionally, another property owned by Perry, located in Hollywood Hills, was listed for sale in May 2024 for $5.2 million. Property records reveal that this home was purchased in June 2023, just four months prior to Perry’s passing.
In a heartfelt statement shared exclusively with PEOPLE after the tragedy, Perry’s family expressed their sorrow, stating, “We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him, and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love.”
The autopsy report indicated that contributing factors to the actor’s death included drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine, a medication used to treat opioid use disorder.
In May 2024, authorities initiated a formal investigation to trace the source of the potent medication found in Perry’s system, as the level detected was comparable to that used in general anesthesia, according to the autopsy findings.
By August, five individuals were charged and arrested in connection with Perry’s death, which included two doctors, a woman dubbed “The Ketamine Queen,” and Perry’s personal live-in assistant.
