Taking time for self-reflection, Josh Hall is embracing life after his separation from Christina Haack (formerly Hall). On Friday, October 25, the 44-year-old realtor posted a sunrise view from Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee, to his Instagram Stories.
This town is where Christina, 41, has recently put her second home on the market for $4.5 million, an arrangement they agreed upon in September shortly before the listing. A representative for Josh confirmed to PEOPLE that he is no longer staying in Christina’s house.
In the image, Hall captures a picturesque scene featuring a green pasture, autumn leaves, a long wooden fence, and an American flag, all illuminated by the rising sun. The post was set to the Beatles’ classic, “Here Comes The Sun.”
Earlier this month, the star of Christina on the Coast announced on Instagram that she was selling her Leiper’s Fork farmhouse, which served as the backdrop for her HGTV spinoff, Christina in the Country.
A source informed PEOPLE that Josh had been living in the farmhouse since the couple’s split. According to a legal document obtained by PEOPLE, the ex-partners reached a short-term agreement allowing Josh to reside in the Tennessee home, provided it was not being rented out. Christina has indicated that she has rented the house during her absences.
Josh had filed an ex parte request to block any potential sale, a move that Christina contested, as previously reported by PEOPLE.
Christina defended the decision to list the home, describing it as standard practice for her career as a reality television star, interior designer, and real estate investor, emphasizing that the property is featured in her shows and operates as a vacation rental.
In response to Christina’s filing, Josh’s representative alleged that the Tennessee house was never intended as an investment property. He stated, “Christina was in Nashville so much she had to make a public statement about it, calling this their ‘second home.’ Nobody spends so much time at an ‘investment home’ that they must clarify why they’re often there.”
Additionally, Christina seemed to take a subtle jab at her estranged husband in an Instagram Story posted on October 4, when she announced the home’s listing. “I guess ‘Leiper’s Fork’ is gonna have to come off the bio soon,” she wrote, referencing Josh’s recent update to his Instagram bio location. “Time to go back to reality soon.”
In early August, Josh moved out of their $12 million mansion in Newport Beach, California.
Christina purchased the farmhouse in February 2021 and is the sole owner, according to court documents filed in July. She has filmed two seasons of Christina in the Country at the property, with the second season set to premiere on November 12.
Josh and Christina began their relationship in March 2021, making it public by July of that year. After a private marriage in October 2021, they held a romantic ceremony in Hawaii in September 2022, attended by close friends and family.
Previously based in Austin, Texas, Hall, a real estate professional, cited “irreconcilable differences” and sought spousal support when he filed for divorce in July.
Christina’s marriage to Josh marked her third. She was previously wed to her former Flip or Flop co-star Tarek El Moussa and Celebrity IOU: Joyride host Ant Anstead. She shares a daughter, Taylor, 13, and a son, Brayden, 9, with El Moussa, 43, and a son, Hudson, 5, with Anstead, 45. Josh has also been married before.
