During a recent episode of Hot Mess with Alix Earle, Alix Earle, 23, discussed her initial hesitation about hosting a party following her boyfriend Braxton Berrios’ season-ending injury sustained during a Miami Dolphins game against the Cincinnati Colts on October 20.
She recounted, “I was like, ‘I want to cancel this party, I don’t want to do it.’ However, after talking it over with [Braxton], he encouraged me, saying, ‘Don’t cancel the party. You’re already going to be in L.A. and have so much fun.'”
Earle finally decided to proceed with an Alice in Wonderland-themed Halloween celebration in Los Angeles on October 25, where she dressed up as the Cheshire Cat. She also reflected on the “scary” and “stressful” moment when she learned about Berrios’ injury right after landing in New York.

“As soon as I turned the game on, I heard, ‘Braxton Berrios [was] in the tent with an injury,’ and that’s the last thing you want to hear,” she explained. Unsure of the severity of the injury since she couldn’t watch the game, she added, “I didn’t know what type of injury it was; that could mean anything.
While at the airport, I felt all the blood rush from my face. When Braxton called, I picked up and knew immediately it was bad. I had never heard him like that before.” Since Berrios’ injury, Earle has been a steadfast source of support during his recovery.
She recently told PEOPLE at the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards that she intended to return to Miami to be with him before Halloween. “He’s always been so positive and such a good reinforcement in my life, so I’m happy to be able to be there for him,” she expressed. “I have no doubt he’ll come out on the other side even better.”
On October 29, Earle provided an update about Berrios on her Instagram Stories, revealing that he had undergone surgery while sharing a video of the wide receiver being wheeled out on a hospital bed. “Here’s to a successful surgery & now onto recovery,” she captioned the video. “And always with a smile on his face.” She also shared a heartfelt photo of herself holding Berrios’ hand, accompanied by three black heart emojis.
