Attentive fans noticed a brief appearance by Josh Hall in a recent promo for The Flip Off. Originally, Josh was slated to appear alongside his then-wife, HGTV star Christina Haack (formerly Hall), in the house-flipping series, which would see the couple competing against her ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa, and Tarek’s current wife, Heather El Moussa.
Following Josh’s divorce filing in July after nearly three years of marriage to Christina, she, Tarek, and Heather resumed filming without him, according to multiple sources. In updated promotional material for The Flip Off, Josh was absent from most footage.

However, fans spotted Josh, a realtor formerly based in Austin, Texas, off to the side in a newly released video that Christina and the El Moussas posted on Instagram on October 30. Curious comments quickly surfaced, with some asking, “Is this old? Josh is in the video??” while others expressed excitement but noticed Josh in the background.
Based on the setting and the cast’s outfits, the clip appears to have been shot during the initial promo filming in May, well before Josh and Christina’s separation.
The video focuses on playful banter between Tarek and his current and former wives. In one moment, Tarek jokingly claims, “We’re just naturally beautiful,” prompting Christina to quip about his “filming powder,” while Heather humorously remarks on his eyebrow grooming.
Tarek captioned the post: “When the stakes are even higher than the on-set tension,” hinting at the competitive nature of the show. He added that The Flip Off, first revealed on May 15, promises to bring fresh twists to HGTV.
Tarek and Christina, who rose to fame together on Flip or Flop, ended their seven-year marriage in 2016 and share two children, Taylor and Brayden.
Josh was Christina’s third husband. His divorce filing in mid-July cited “irreconcilable differences” and requested spousal support. Christina later responded with a legal filing asking to bar either from seeking support, listing their $12 million Newport Beach mansion among assets in the settlement.
The exes are currently entangled in a dispute over Christina’s second home in Tennessee, where she films Christina in the Country. Josh has stayed there post-separation under a legal arrangement, but tensions rose when Christina recently listed the property for $4.5 million, sparking public disagreements.
