Currently, Jason Tartick is not pursuing new romantic interests. The 36-year-old star from Bachelor Nation recently ended his relationship with influencer Kat Stickler, a split that was publicly shared on October 12. He is now reflecting on his state of mind just two weeks after the breakup.
Regarding the possibility of dating, Tartick expressed to PEOPLE at Heidi Klum’s annual Halloween Party in New York City on October 31 that he is not in a place for it right now. “I’m just trying to take care of myself right now,” he shared.
Despite not being in the mood for romance, Tartick is making an effort to socialize again, noting that the Halloween event marked his first outing since the split. “It’s good to change it up a little bit,” he remarked.
In the announcement of his breakup with Stickler, who is 30, Tartick conveyed his feelings candidly: “It’s fair to say that I love hard with all my heart and fall fast. Sometimes in life, that works out and other times it doesn’t. This time it didn’t.” He expressed gratitude for the joy and light Stickler brought into his life, including her 5-year-old daughter, MK. “I will forever be grateful for her,” he stated.
Tartick emphasized that their breakup was amicable, stating, “This chapter closes amicably, and another opens. I’ll be rooting for her happiness and I am also rooting for mine. ❤️🩹”
In a video shared on her Instagram Stories, Stickler addressed the breakup as well, describing it as “amicable” and simply stating, “It just didn’t work.” She expressed her reluctance to delve deeper into the topic, adding that while sharing a relationship online often requires revealing the repercussions, she didn’t want to focus on that.
“I just wanted to tell you guys and it’s not love wasted,” she explained. “Sometimes it’s so easy to think that when a relationship ends that the love is wasted. But love is never wasted. So, that’s all I have to say.”
In a recent podcast episode following the split, Tartick briefly touched on the situation, acknowledging that the past week had been difficult. “I mean, there’s just no way to kind of beat around the bush. Tough week. Breakups suck. If you’re in a situation where you’re not feeling OK, just know that’s OK,” he shared on Trading Secrets.
It was confirmed by PEOPLE in April that Tartick was in a relationship with Stickler. This marked his first romance after the end of his engagement to Kaitlyn Bristowe, which was announced in August 2023 after four years together.
