Lori Loughlin stays connected to the memory of her friend Bob Saget by visiting his gravesite regularly. The Full House alum, now 60, spoke with her former co-star Dave Coulier on his podcast Full House Rewind in an episode originally recorded in March but reposted on November 1, where they both reflected on their lasting grief over Saget’s sudden passing two and a half years ago.
“I go visit him often,” Loughlin shared with Coulier, 65, as she talked about her routine of stopping by Saget’s grave. Loughlin explained that her volunteer work with Project Angel Food brings her near the cemetery, so she makes a point to go there at the end of her route.
She picks up flowers and takes a few moments to pay her respects. Coulier appreciated Loughlin’s commitment, calling her visits “so sweet.” Saget, who passed at 65 in January 2022, died from a head injury caused by an accidental fall.
Loughlin also recalled a memorable encounter involving Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo. She had sent Rizzo a photo of the flowers she’d placed on Saget’s grave, only to find out Rizzo had recently visited and left three yellow tulips there. Laughing, Rizzo recognized the abundant flowers on the grave as Loughlin’s gesture, noting, “I knew it was you.”
Reflecting on their lost friend, Loughlin expressed how deeply she misses Saget, saying, “It’s hard to believe he’s gone.” During their conversation, she recounted watching a Dave Chappelle special that ended with a heartwarming photo of Chappelle and Saget, which brought her to tears.
Chappelle, 51, previously opened up about Saget’s death in a show shortly after, sharing that he’d just received a text from Saget, which he hadn’t yet replied to. He reminded the audience to cherish such fleeting moments.
Following the news of Saget’s passing, Loughlin had shared a heartfelt message, expressing, “Words cannot begin to express how devastated I am. Bob was more than my friend; he was my family. I will miss his kind heart and quick wit. Thank you for a lifetime of wonderful memories and laughter. I love you, Bobby.”
