After hinting at a song dedicated to her boyfriend, Karl-Anthony Towns, Jordyn Woods has officially revealed it as her debut single, featuring the New York Knicks center prominently in the music video. On October 31, Woods, 27, released the visuals for her sensual R&B track “Be With You,” showcasing affectionate moments with her longtime boyfriend, who is 28 years old.
“Filming this pushed me out of my comfort zone, but I believe that’s where the greatest growth occurs,” Woods expressed on Instagram about the experience. “I had an incredible team that helped me pull this together in no time 🤣, and it’s now available on my YouTube channel! I hope you all enjoy this little project we created. 🤍”
The music video captures Woods getting glammed up and driving before reuniting with the NBA star. Their silhouettes are seen embracing against a moody blue backdrop, and eventually, the couple drives off hand in hand. “I’ll be everything you need / You know that I’m on your team / Glad heaven sent you to me / ’Cause all I wanna do is be with you,” Woods sings in the track.
Initially, Woods teased the song in May on Instagram, using it as the backdrop for a post that celebrated her four-year anniversary with Towns.“4 years with my Bestfriend. ❤️ Here’s a snippet of a song I wrote for him 🔥 🥲🙃,” she shared at that time.
Woods later informed Billboard that she has “a bunch of songs” already in the pipeline, with aspirations to release a full-length album, viewing the possibilities as “endless.” She acknowledged Towns’ encouragement, crediting him for inspiring her to confront her fear of recording in the studio.
“He’s recorded some songs himself. The first song I ever recorded was with him at the studio,” she recounted. “We’re both very competitive. I was getting really anxious about stepping into the booth, and he was like, ‘Well, I bet I can go in the other studio and record a song.’ So I was like, ‘Okay, bet! Let’s see who can finish their song first.’”
Following the video release, Woods shared an Instagram post with behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot, reminiscing about her experience on the third season of The Masked Singer, where she finished eighth.
“Some of you may remember I was on The Masked Singer in 2019, which was when I heard my voice for the first time. This song is just for vibes; I’m not sure if an actual ‘singing’ song will come out of me or not… 😏,” she noted.
Woods and Towns began dating in 2020, and in February, the basketball star shared with PEOPLE how Woods’ support has been for him. “I’ve seen the impact that good women have on men’s lives through my mom and sister, and I’m just grateful that I recognized that before I got with Jordyn, which helped me appreciate her even more,” he said.
