Get to Know Chris Appleton’s Kids: Billy and Kitty-Blu

Chris Appleton is a celebrity hairstylist and father of two, Billy and Kitty-blu

Chris Appleton, a celebrity hairstylist renowned for his work with stars like Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez, is also a proud father of two children. Appleton’s hairstyling career began at the age of 13 in his hometown of Leicester, England, where he crossed paths with his former partner, Katie Katon. Together, they had their first child, Billy, in 2002, and later welcomed a daughter, Kitty-blu, in 2004.

At 26, Appleton publicly came out as gay. Reflecting on the process in a 2019 interview with Gay Times, he shared that he took time to ensure his children were emotionally prepared before revealing his truth.

Appleton shares family memories on Instagram, like vacations to Aspen

“It took me some time to understand and accept who I am,” he explained. “It was important for me to ensure the kids were comfortable before I expressed that part of myself. I wanted to make sure the timing was right for everyone.”

The connection between Appleton and his children is incredibly close. In 2021, Billy and Kitty-blu had the honor of presenting him with the Fitness Achievement Award at the Hollywood Beauty Awards. Appleton expressed his pride on Instagram, calling it a “proud dad moment” and humorously noting how his children often make him appear shorter.

Billy Appleton, born on December 1, 2002, is now 21. He’s currently a student at Loyola Marymount University, majoring in economics, and previously worked as a marketing consultant.

After moving to Los Angeles at 18, Billy took a gap year before resuming his studies. He’s also a passionate sports fan and has shared his experiences meeting NBA legends Jerry West and Magic Johnson, as well as attending Lakers and hockey games.

Although Billy prefers to stay out of the public eye, he occasionally appears on his father’s Instagram during family vacations, such as their trips to Aspen. Appleton celebrated Billy’s 19th birthday with a heartfelt post, expressing his love and admiration for his son.

Kitty-blu Appleton, born on November 3, 2004, is now 20. She revealed in a TikTok video that her parents almost named her Kimberly. At 17, Kitty-blu moved to Los Angeles to live with her dad and pursue her dream of becoming a makeup artist.

In a 2022 Allure interview, she talked about how makeup was a passion and escape for her, but she didn’t want to be seen only as Chris Appleton’s daughter. Although she attended cosmetology school in Burbank, she chose not to pursue a career in makeup artistry.

In 2022, Kitty-blu marked her 18th birthday with a pink-themed celebration. Her father shared an emotional post on Instagram, praising her growth into a remarkable young woman.

In October 2024, Appleton and Kitty-blu attended a Halloween party together, dressing up as characters from Beetlejuice. Appleton portrayed the infamous villain Michael Keaton played, while Kitty-blu dressed as Lydia Deetz, a character made famous by Winona Ryder.
