A source has revealed that Ant Anstead will be making an appearance on Christina Haack’s upcoming show The Flip Off, though he won’t be working alongside her as a partner.
The source shared that while Anstead is joining the show, he will not be paired with Christina in the series. Previously, Christina had joked about having her second husband, Ant, on the show, calling it a “genius” idea in response to a fan comment. However, she later clarified that she could no longer work with any exes.
Scheduled for a 2025 premiere, The Flip Off will also feature Christina’s first husband, Tarek El Moussa, and his current wife, Heather Rae El Moussa. Christina’s third husband, Josh Hall, had initially been expected to join her on the show, but their unexpected split in July put those plans in flux.
Christina resumed filming without Josh, though it remains unclear whether he will appear in any capacity. The specifics of Anstead’s role on the show are still unconfirmed, and PEOPLE reached out to HGTV for comment but did not receive an immediate response.
Rumors of Anstead’s involvement began circulating in the summer. A fan suggested in a comment that having him replace Josh would boost ratings, and Christina humorously agreed, saying it would be a “genius” idea.
However, she later told Backgrid that while it would be great for ratings, she didn’t want to work with any more exes, especially since she already collaborates with Tarek.
Fans following Christina’s social media may not have been surprised by her changing perspective, as she and Ant, who share their 5-year-old son Hudson, have been exchanging friendly comments recently.
Christina even re-followed Anstead on Instagram and explained that their priority should be getting along for their son’s sake. Anstead, in turn, seems to have followed Christina back as of October 19.
Christina’s improving relationship with Anstead comes despite her ongoing divorce from Josh Hall. After nearly three years of marriage, Josh filed for divorce on July 15, citing “irreconcilable differences” and requesting spousal support.
Christina filed a response on July 24, requesting that neither party be awarded spousal support. Josh later publicly denied claims that he had asked for $65,000 in spousal support.
Since their split, Christina has been seen filming The Flip Off without Josh, though it’s unclear if he will appear on the show. This new series will mark the first time that Christina and Tarek have worked together since the conclusion of Flip or Flop in 2022.
They were married for seven years and share two children, Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9. Although they divorced in 2016, they continued to work together for several more seasons of their hit show. Tarek and Heather welcomed their son Tristan in 2023.
