Fans of HGTV have been kept guessing by recent developments involving Christina Haack and Ant Anstead. The two were spotted filming Christina’s new HGTV series The Flip Off on November 7 in Los Angeles, where Christina, 41, and Ant, 45, were seen working together.
A source had confirmed earlier that Ant would be appearing on the show, a topic that had already been teased when Christina joked about him replacing her estranged third husband, Josh Hall.

The show, announced in May 2024, will feature Christina alongside her first husband, Tarek El Moussa, and Tarek’s wife, Heather Rae El Moussa. Christina had initially planned for Josh Hall to be part of the show as well, with both couples facing off in a house-flipping competition. However, their split in July led to Christina continuing production without Josh, leaving his role in question.
A source confirmed to PEOPLE that while Ant would make an appearance, he would not be Christina’s partner on the show. This comes after Christina jokingly suggested that having Ant replace Josh in the competition would be a “genius” idea, though she later clarified that working with exes was no longer something she could do, as she already collaborates with Tarek.
The precise nature of Anstead’s involvement in the show, which is set to premiere in early 2025, remains uncertain. PEOPLE reached out to HGTV for further details but has not yet received a response.
Christina and Ant’s relationship appears to be improving following their bitter divorce and custody battle over their son Hudson. Married from 2018 to 2021, the couple has been working towards better co-parenting.
In an August interview with Backgrid, Christina explained that Hudson was the main motivation for mending their relationship, stating that he “deserves to have us get along.”
Recently, the two have been engaging more on social media, even re-following each other on Instagram. Along with Hudson, Christina shares two children with Tarek: daughter Taylor, 14, and son Brayden, 9. Ant has two older children, Amelie, 21, and Archie, 17, from his first marriage.
While Christina’s relationship with Ant evolves, her divorce proceedings with Josh Hall are still ongoing. After nearly three years of marriage, Josh filed for divorce in mid-July, citing “irreconcilable differences” and requesting spousal support. Christina responded a week later, requesting that neither party be granted spousal support.
In recent weeks, the two have been exchanging tensions on Instagram over a disagreement regarding a Tennessee house that Christina owns. Josh has been living in the home since their split, and in October, Christina listed the property, where she filmed Christina in the Country, for $4.5 million.
