After her daughter was rushed to the hospital last month, Whitney Rose is providing an update on Bobbie’s health. In an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE, the 38-year-old Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star shared that her 14-year-old daughter, Bobbie, is “doing so much better” and is showing strength as a “fighter” after being admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) due to a “severe asthma exacerbation.”
Reflecting on the difficult experience, Whitney described the situation as one of the most frightening and challenging moments she has faced as a mother. She shares Bobbie and her 11-year-old son, Brooks, with her husband, Justin Rose, and opened up about the experience with PEOPLE.
“The moment I saw her fighting for her life, it was incredibly terrifying,” Whitney continued, recalling her initial reaction to the health scare that she first shared on her Instagram Stories on October 6. “But she’s a fighter, and now she’s recovering and doing so much better. She’s home and healthy.”
Whitney went on to say that the family had made some necessary adjustments to their lifestyle to prevent Bobbie’s asthma from being triggered again, but reassured fans that her daughter’s condition is improving.
“She’s a freshman now, and she’s amazing,” Whitney added. “Boys are starting to notice her, and she steals all my makeup and new clothes. I feel like I have a better version of myself in her, and watching her grow is truly one of the greatest joys of my life.”
She also shared a little about her son, saying, “Brooks is 11 and in sixth grade, so it’s my last year with an elementary kid, but they’re both doing great. They’re both improving in soccer and really thriving.”
Whitney’s comments come after she updated her followers on Instagram on October 10, revealing that Bobbie was out of the ICU and recovering at home. In a heartfelt selfie with her daughter, Whitney wrote, “So grateful for all of your prayers and healing vibes.”
The Bravo star also expressed her gratitude to her supportive community, saying, “We are blessed to have such an amazing community with all of you. Хохо, Whitney & Bobbie.” In addition to their two children, Whitney and Justin also raise his three sons—Austin, Christopher, and Trey—from his previous marriage.
