The late Betty White is set to be honored with her own U.S. Postal Service stamp, marking another recognition for the beloved star. This announcement comes as part of the Postal Service’s uncovering of several new stamps, which will be introduced next year, with White’s stamp among the highlights.
In their statement, the Postal Service referred to White as a “television icon” who “delighted audiences with her humor and charm for seven decades,” adding that she continued to attract new fans well into her 90s.
The stamp features a digital illustration inspired by a photograph of White from 2010, depicting her smiling against a purple backdrop. White passed away in 2021 at the age of 99.
Other new stamps coming next year include tributes to renowned songwriter Allen Toussaint as part of the Black Heritage series, a “Love” stamp showcasing Keith Haring’s artwork, a Lunar New Year stamp celebrating the year of the snake, and smaller tributes to the Appalachian Trail and American landscapes.
Lisa Bobb-Semple, the Postal Service’s stamp services director, emphasized that this early preview of the 2025 stamp lineup reflects their dedication to offering a diverse array of subjects and designs for stamp collectors and enthusiasts.
