Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia is speaking out about her ex-boyfriend Zach Bryan’s silence following her claims of emotional abuse during their year-long relationship.
In an episode of her BFFs podcast, which aired on Nov. 7, LaPaglia, 25, shared details of their troubled time together. While Bryan, 28, has not publicly addressed their breakup, which he announced on Oct. 22, he has continued posting on Instagram.
LaPaglia expressed frustration over his lack of response, saying on a Nov. 13 episode of BFFs, “The response itself, the silence, is deafening. I think his response proves his character again. It just kind of proves everything I said in the last episode, and it is a little frustrating.”
Despite the tension, Bryan has been active on social media, posting frequently on Instagram Stories. His recent updates include sharing song recommendations, videos of his pets, and photos of his family, including his sister MacKenzie.
Additionally, he has been promoting his upcoming concerts, including three stadium shows set for July 2025 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, with Kings of Leon also featured on the lineup. The night the podcast dropped, Bryan released two new songs, “High Road” and “This World’s a Giant.”
LaPaglia explained why she didn’t share the full details initially, saying, “I took the high road. I didn’t share the whole story, and me taking the high road wasn’t out of stupidity or protection, it was me throwing him a bone. I don’t believe people are lost causes. It was my final cry [for] help to try to get him to see what he does to people and try to get him to get help.”
She added, “I obviously think he’s not responding because if he is to respond, he has to deny it. And if he denies it, then I’m full story, then I post all the videos and recordings.”
LaPaglia also previously shared that she turned down Bryan’s offer of $12 million to sign a non-disclosure agreement that would have prevented her from discussing their relationship. Reflecting on her decision, she expressed feeling confident that it was the right choice, noting the overwhelming support she’s received from other women.
“The last year of my life has been the hardest year of my life dealing with the abuse from this dude,” LaPaglia said, referring to Bryan. “I’m still scared right now because I’m scared of him,” she admitted. “My brain’s rewired and I’m scared to make him mad, and last week, I didn’t want to talk about it ‘cause I was scared.”
