Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas continue to celebrate their love, which remains as strong as when they first married nearly 24 years ago. On Monday, Nov. 18, the couple marked their anniversary, sharing heartfelt messages alongside nostalgic wedding photos.
Zeta-Jones posted a tribute to her husband, writing, “24 years ago, I said, I do. Happy Anniversary darling Michael.” She expressed her deep affection, comparing their love to a “hole in one” that “you have to see to believe,” adding several heart emojis. “Love you,” she concluded.
The couple became engaged in December 1999 and wed the following year in a lavish ceremony at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. Their wedding was attended by a star-studded guest list, including Tom Hanks, Whoopi Goldberg, Anthony Hopkins, Brad Pitt, and Goldie Hawn.
Douglas also shared a post for their anniversary, reflecting on their lasting bond with a loving message: “24 years ago my darling; wow, was I a lucky guy! Happy Anniversary Catherine! ❤️”
Their love story began in 1998 at the Deauville Film Festival, where Douglas was captured by Zeta-Jones’ performance in The Mask of Zorro. He immediately knew she was the one and arranged to meet her. Their connection was undeniable, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.
Together, Douglas and Zeta-Jones have two children—son Dylan, 24, and daughter Carys, 21—and they also share the same birthday on Sept. 25. From a previous marriage to Diandra Luker, Douglas has an older son, Cameron, 45.
Though their relationship has had its challenges, including a brief separation in 2013, they reconciled and have emerged stronger than ever. Earlier this year, both expressed their love in sweet Valentine’s Day tributes to each other.
Zeta-Jones shared a montage of photos with her husband, writing, “Happy Valentines Day to my love Michael. Sealed with a kiss.” Douglas responded with his own post, saying, “Happy Valentine’s Day to my darling Catherine! Love you always and forever.”
