Nicole Kidman recently shared how her husband, Keith Urban, reacted when they watched her popular Netflix series, The Perfect Couple, together. Speaking to British GQ, the 57-year-old actress described the show as so addictive that it keeps viewers eagerly clicking to the next episode without pause.
She explained, “I watched it with my husband, and he kept saying, ‘Okay, let me see the next one. Let me see the next one.’ That’s when I know it’s good when he says that.”
At the iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas this past September, Urban, also 57, expressed his admiration for the series, which portrays a wealthy couple, played by Kidman and Liev Schreiber, living in a luxurious Nantucket home.
“I watched the whole thing before it came out, binged it,” he shared. “It’s been amazing, and so many people have stopped me to say how much they love it.” Despite being aware of the show’s plot twists ahead of its release, Urban managed to keep the ending under wraps. “I’m the best secret keeper you’ll ever meet,” he said, adding, “I’ll go to my grave with secrets.”
Kidman, for her part, revealed in British GQ that she was drawn to the series primarily because of the opportunity to collaborate with director Susanne Bier. “I did it because of Susanne Bier,” she said. “She called me and said, ‘I want you to play Greer. I think you haven’t done anything like this, and it would be fun for you.’”
She also praised her co-star Liev Schreiber, noting, “Liev, who plays Tag, and my husband, I was like, ‘Okay, I need a partner here who’s a great actor.’ He’s such a great actor, so it was just fun to spar with him.”
Kidman went on to describe her character as “funny, sharp, and witty,” and emphasized the strength of the ensemble cast, particularly Eve Hewson, the lead. “Eve is wonderful, and she had to carry the show, but we were all there to support her and help her,” she said.
