Jason Tartick isn’t shy about poking fun at his friend Tyler Cameron. In a light-hearted video shared on both of their Instagram accounts, the Bachelorette alum, 31, and Trading Secrets podcast host, 36, participated in a trending “suspect” challenge, where celebrities roast each other while pretending to be law enforcement officers chasing a suspect.
Taking a playful jab at Cameron’s short-lived romance with supermodel Gigi Hadid in 2019, Tartick quipped, “Suspect thought it was a good idea to take a supermodel out on a date, have his dad pay for it, and then announce their entire relationship at a funeral.” This prompted both laughter and groans from Cameron.
Cameron, however, didn’t hold back in returning the roast. He teased Tartick, joking that the podcast host only dates women with millions of followers, referring to his recently-ended relationship with TikTok star Kat Stickler.
This playful exchange stemmed from a story Cameron shared on Trading Secrets in 2023, where he revealed that he only had $200 in his bank account while dating Hadid. Tartick recalled their conversation during a March 2023 interview, where Cameron told him, “I don’t know what the f— I’m doing. I’ve got $5,000 in my bank account, I don’t know what my next job is, and I’m dating Gigi Hadid!” Cameron quickly corrected himself, saying, “Not even $5,000 — I had like $200, you know what I mean?”
Cameron explained that he often found himself nervously hoping his credit card would go through when going on dates due to his financial struggles. Reflecting on his early days living in New York City, he shared, “I’d be going on dates, calling pops from the bathroom, saying, ‘I don’t think my credit card’s gonna go through. Can you send me money right now?’ And he’d say, ‘You got it, son, go get it.’”
Cameron’s brief romance with Hadid occurred after his time on The Bachelorette, with the pair even attending her grandmother’s funeral in the Netherlands in September 2019. Since then, both have moved on to new relationships. Cameron recently confirmed he’s seeing someone but is keeping it private. “It’s something that we’ve been working on and keeping private. But there will be a time when we come out,” he shared with Entertainment Tonight in July.
The Special Forces contestant was also linked to influencer Paige Lorenze in 2022, though their brief relationship ended after just a few weeks. Cameron explained on an episode of E!’s Daily Pop that it “wasn’t the right time” for either of them.
Meanwhile, Hadid is now in a relationship with actor Bradley Cooper, 48, and previously dated musician Zayn Malik, with whom she shares a 3-year-old daughter, Khai. Hadid and Malik split in October 2021 after nearly six years of dating.
