This year, Teri Hatcher is marking her 60th birthday with plans that truly reflect her personal style. A nice gift awaits the actress, as her new film How to Fall in Love by Christmas is set to premiere on December 8, the same day as her milestone birthday.
This cozy Christmas romance, airing on Lifetime, will be the first time Hatcher’s film debut aligns with her special day, and she’s clearly thrilled about the coincidence. “I’ve never had a movie air on my birthday,” Hatcher shared with Us Weekly during the Wonderful Lifetime Event on Nov. 19, expressing her excitement.
She went on to explain that while she usually doesn’t make a big deal of her birthdays, this year feels different. “It’s always been too much for me, but this year, I wanted to acknowledge it in the way I feel is right,” she said. “My daughter just turned 27, and I told her, ‘That’s a real age, a legitimate age.'”
Hatcher continued, “In a funny way, I feel like 60 is a legit age, too. And it’s making me realize how important my core group of friends is—they’re the ones I’m going the distance with.” As for the celebrations, she revealed that a group of 20 close friends will join her for a special celebration. “I’m really touched that my friends are going all out for me. I’m definitely not ignoring my birthday this year.”
While Hatcher typically doesn’t make a fuss over her birthdays, she still takes time for reflection. For her 59th birthday last year, she shared her admiration for Jane Fonda’s “intentional living” philosophy, reposting a video of Fonda discussing it on Instagram. “Love that!” she wrote.
