Porsha Williams is reflecting on the positive outcomes of her ongoing divorce from Simon Guobadia, especially after recent legal victories. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, 43, shared her gratitude with PEOPLE at Bravo Fan Fest in Miami, noting the judge’s decision to grant her temporary control of their marital home and permission to film there, attributing her success to divine guidance.
“God’s been good to me,” she expressed, emphasizing her unwavering faith. “Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, has always been by my side. While people may have their opinions about my future, it’s already written, and nothing can alter that. I believe in what’s meant for me.” She also urged others to keep their heads up, suggesting that “tomorrow could be even better than today.”

In addition to her legal triumphs, Williams spoke candidly about how therapy has played a vital role in managing her emotions during this challenging period, particularly while filming RHOA.
“Therapy has been so valuable, especially in learning how to prioritize self-care,” she revealed. “Being on a reality show makes it hard to keep your life private, but I’ve worked hard to set boundaries on what I share with others.” She explained that protecting herself while still engaging with her co-stars has been a beneficial approach for her well-being.
Williams filed for divorce from Guobadia in February, after just 15 months of marriage, citing the irreparable breakdown of their relationship. The couple’s separation was reportedly caused by an “ongoing matter,” though specifics were not disclosed at the time.
The couple had quickly become engaged in May 2021, after only a month of dating, and married later that year in a Nigerian traditional ceremony, followed by an American wedding in Atlanta.
Since their split, the two have had disagreements over the possession of their marital home and the validity of their prenuptial agreement. Guobadia has challenged the fairness of the agreement, particularly after Williams secured a deal with NBC Universal for a new scripted project.
Williams, who shares a 5-year-old daughter, Pilar Jhena, with her ex-fiancé Dennis McKinley, has also expressed frustration over Guobadia’s false claims and attempts to misrepresent their situation. Earlier this month, a judge ruled that Williams should have temporary sole control of their home, granting her unrestricted rights to produce television, film, or social media content there.
The court also mandated that Guobadia provide necessary documents to facilitate filming, including any contracts related to RHOA. In response, Guobadia filed a defamation lawsuit against Williams over her posts about erectile dysfunction.
He accused her of making harmful and misleading statements, alleging that they damaged his reputation and caused emotional distress. He claims the posts have negatively impacted both his personal relationships and his professional life, and he is seeking at least $75,000 in damages.
