At the Le Bal des Débutantes ball in Paris, Apple Martin, the daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, made a playful entrance by jumping into another woman’s photo. In a TikTok video shared on Sunday, the 20-year-old can be seen interrupting a fellow debutante’s photo opportunity with a professional photographer.
The footage features an unnamed debutante in a black gown smiling for the camera until she turns around to see Apple entering her frame. Although the girl in the black dress appeared to take it in stride, some viewers criticized Apple’s actions in the comments section.
Posing with her hands on her hips, Apple was eventually asked by the photographer to step aside to allow another debutante to take her picture. While the other young woman laughed off the incident, opinions among fans were mixed regarding Apple’s interruption.
One comment noted, “she just came and stole that other girl’s thunder … ok,” while another remarked, “The girl in black was literally posing when Apple took over. And Apple’s walk is not it. She’s mocking the process.” A third user added, “Erm she couldn’t give the girl before her a moment, no.”
“How obnoxious and entitled she is,” criticized another user, while someone else commented, “It’s giving Regina George,” referencing the antagonist from the 2004 film “Mean Girls.” In contrast, some supporters defended the model, claiming she was simply “joking” and “having fun.”
One supporter remarked, “I think she was being silly and having fun,” while another said, “This made me like her. She has a sense of humor over the ridiculousness of this.” A third fan added, “She’s funny.” Representatives for Apple’s celebrity parents were not immediately available for comment.
On Saturday, Apple officially debuted into society at the glamorous Parisian ball, where she wore a stunning custom blue Valentino dress and sandals. Paltrow, 52, Martin, 47, and their 18-year-old son, Moses, attended the event to support Apple, all dressed in Valentino attire as well.
The ex-couple even posed together, marking a rare moment at the ball. During her holiday break from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, Apple took some time to enjoy her time in Europe.
