On the set of her “Fortnight” music video, Taylor Swift found a sense of comfort, particularly due to the presence of Travis Kelce, as noted by the cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto. He stated, “I think she felt very supported by his presence and probably also proud to show him what she does and the kind of leader she is. She makes her own kind of touchdowns.”
Prieto, who is 59, has collaborated with Swift on four videos and expressed admiration for her work ethic when they first met during the production of “The Man,” released in 2020.
He recalled, “I remember very well all the visual references she had put together for that meeting. You might think that someone with that level of success might be jaded or may just rely on others to feed her ideas, but she puts in the work.”
The Oscar nominee emphasized Swift’s commitment to thorough research and thoughtful consideration of her creative concepts. He remarked that her ability to discuss cinematic language made her resemble “a much more experienced director.”
Prieto elaborated, saying, “It did not seem to be a musician pretending to be a director. It felt like I was talking to someone who had deep experience in that role.”
In addition to “The Man,” Prieto also contributed to Swift’s “Cardigan” and “Willow” videos, both released in 2020. Earlier this year, Swift disclosed during her acceptance speech at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards that Kelce, 35, was supportive while she filmed “Fortnight” with Post Malone.
“I would always just hear someone cheering from across the studio where we were shooting,” she recalled. “And that one person was my boyfriend, Travis. Everything this man touches turns into happiness and fun and magic, and I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I’ll always remember that.”
Since they publicly announced their relationship in September 2023, both Swift and Kelce have been there to support one another’s career pursuits. Swift marked their relationship by attending a game at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, to cheer for the Chiefs during their match against the Chicago Bears.
Since then, she has traveled extensively to attend 17 Chiefs games and even visited Kelce while he filmed “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” encouraging him to explore a role in “Grotesquerie.”
On his part, Kelce has attended 14 Eras Tour shows worldwide, starting with Swift’s concert in Argentina in November 2023, and surprised her by joining her on stage in London while she performed “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” in June.
Kelce’s family members, including his parents Donna and Ed, brother Jason, and sister-in-law Kylie, have attended some concerts that he was unable to be present for. Despite their demanding schedules, the couple has prioritized time together, most recently spending Thanksgiving together.
“It was really important to Taylor and Travis to spend Thanksgiving together this year since they’ve never been able to before,” an insider revealed to Page Six, noting that work commitments had kept the couple apart last year. Another source confirmed to Us Weekly that they plan to gather their families for Christmas.
