Hailey Bieber and Ivanka Trump were instrumental in pulling off a carefully planned engagement surprise for Drew Taggart and Marianne Fonseca. The Chainsmokers musician, 34, chose Giorgio Baldi, a popular Los Angeles hotspot, as the setting for his proposal to the Brazilian model.
Fonseca, unsuspecting of what was about to happen, believed she was on her way to meet Trump for a casual dinner. Instead, she arrived to find Taggart waiting amidst an elaborate display of roses at the restaurant.
An insider revealed that Trump played a key role in the scheme, describing her as the “ultimate wingwoman” for organizing the dinner and ensuring its true purpose remained under wraps.
On Instagram, Fonseca confirmed the surprise, saying, “The truth is [Trump] invited me to a girls dinner with her, but when I got there, it was my love . . . You guys got me so good.”
Bieber also contributed to the memorable evening. According to a source, “Drew enlisted Marianne’s close friends, including Hailey, to make the proposal extraordinary.” Bieber’s advice extended to selecting a breathtaking 5-carat elongated cushion-cut diamond for the engagement ring, as she had insight into Fonseca’s preferences.
Years earlier, Bieber herself became engaged to Justin Bieber with an oval-cut diamond ring, which she later revealed was upgraded slightly but remained modest in size despite public speculation.
In an interview with W Magazine, she shared her frustration over exaggerated assumptions about her ring’s carat size, emphasizing that she never wanted the topic to be overblown.
Trump has since been seen at events like Art Basel Miami, while Fonseca, CEO of Gente Beauty, celebrates her engagement. Taggart’s connection to Fonseca also inspired his song “Summertime Friends.”
