Pamela Anderson has been taken aback by the attention her barefaced look has received. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 57-year-old actress from “The Last Showgirl” shared that her decision to go makeup-free started as a personal journey.
Reflecting on this choice, she remarked, “This whole peeling it back was kind of how I just started. I just wanted to remember who I was.” Anderson, who gained viral fame for her fresh appearance during Paris Fashion Week last September, expressed her desire to move away from playing characters in her personal life.
“I just want to be me, so this is an experiment. It’s just something I feel drawn to do — I didn’t even think anyone would notice!” she chuckled, highlighting her surprise at the public reaction. The world certainly took notice, as the legendary actress has fascinated audiences with her series of makeup-free red carpet appearances.
Her choice has inspired other celebrities, including Drew Barrymore and Jamie Lee Curtis, to embrace a no-makeup aesthetic. Anderson has also discussed her fresh-faced look in previous interviews.
At the recent Gotham Awards 2024, she told People, “I mean… I love to wear makeup too sometimes,” adding that while makeup has its time and place, it didn’t feel right for her in her personal life. Earlier this summer, she shared with Better Homes & Gardens that her decision to ditch makeup has attracted new fans.
“I have people stop me on the street now and say, ‘You know, I never liked you before, but I do now.’ And then I think, ‘Hmm, I know there’s a compliment in there somewhere,’” she recounted. With the recent addition of bangs to her look, all eyes are on Anderson as she sets the stage for upcoming beauty trends.
