Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie have enjoyed a deep friendship long before the term ‘BFF’ became popular. Having been friends since they were just two years old, the pair has spent much of their lives growing up in the public eye.
Now at 43, they have successfully navigated the 2000s, creating their own empires and transforming from party girls in their 20s to dedicated mothers in their 40s. Despite experiencing a brief rift around 2005, the two friends have reunited and are embarking on new adventures together in Paris and Nicole: The Encore.
To celebrate the premiere of their new Peacock show on December 12, Nicole Richie shared a collection of nostalgic photos on her Instagram, reflecting on their long-standing friendship. “It all started here…” she wrote, highlighting their journey as fashion icons.
The images feature Paris, Nicole, and Paris’ sister Nicky Hilton flaunting bold statement accessories. For Nicole’s birthday last September, Paris also posted a carousel of cherished memories from their past, including a memorable black-and-white shot from the ’90s.
Expressing her gratitude for their enduring friendship, Paris wrote, “Words can’t describe how grateful I am for our lifetime of friendship. 🥰 When I look back on my life, so many of my most memorable and special memories were with you. 🥹”
She continued, “No one makes me laugh the way you do. You are one of the most hilarious people on the planet. You are so much fun to be around. You light up every room you walk into and have a heart of gold. So lucky to have you in my life! Can’t wait to make more memories together! Sana saaaaa Love you forever.”
Although they faced challenges in 2005, Nicole has referred to it as part of their growth. “We were friends for a long time before anyone even knew because our families are friends,” she shared during her appearance on Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast.
She added, “And so, we’ve been friends our entire lives. I don’t mean to belittle [the feud] at all, but when you’re talking about some fight, I watch it with other 20-year-olds that I know and they’re going through a little thing and then they’re back.
But because ours was part of a TV show, it just blew up to be something that was so big that it became impossible to connect to or have any sort of real feeling around it.” By 2006, the iconic duo was back together, proving that their bond could withstand the test of time.
