James Kennedy, known for his role on “Vanderpump Rules,” was taken into custody for domestic violence on Tuesday night. Officers in Burbank, California, responded to a call around 11:30 p.m. regarding a dispute between a man and a woman, whose identity has not been revealed, as confirmed by Page Six.
TMZ reported that a witness informed the authorities that they observed Kennedy grabbing the woman during the altercation; however, the police did not find any visible injuries on her. According to the Burbank Police, the 32-year-old DJ was booked for misdemeanor domestic violence and subsequently released after posting $20,000 bail.
The identity of the alleged victim remains unclear, but Kennedy is in a long-term relationship with 28-year-old Ally Lewber. On the evening of his arrest, the couple had been seen enjoying themselves at Kathy Hilton’s Christmas party. Page Six has reached out to representatives for both Kennedy and Lewber for comment but has yet to receive a response. Additionally, Kennedy has not publicly addressed the incident on social media.
On Wednesday, Lewber shared multiple Instagram Stories while attending a holiday influencer event, but Kennedy, who has a history of substance abuse issues, was notably absent from the outing. Kennedy started dating Lewber in 2022, shortly after he ended his engagement with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, who later became involved in a widely publicized affair with Tom Sandoval.
While the Bravo star and astrology enthusiast appeared to be enjoying their relationship, they have faced rumors regarding domestic violence. Bravolebrities Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge allegedly witnessed a “physical altercation” between the couple following an afterparty for the MTV Movie Awards. In response to these claims, Lewber denied any physical confrontation during a February appearance on her former co-star Scheana Shay’s podcast, “Scheananigans.”
She stated, “That never happened. There was no physical altercation. Yes, we were in the car together. I thought we were having fun. We were having fun. But then James and I did get into an argument, but there was no physical assault.”
The latest allegations against Kennedy arise as Bravo announced plans to recast “Vanderpump Rules,” indicating that the British DJ and his fellow cast members, who contributed to the show’s success, will not be returning.
