Rolling Stones Stir Controversy With New Fragrance Launch

Legendary band steps into the perfume game with a bold new scent just in time for the holidays

Have you been longing for a signature scent? Now you can fulfill that desire! The Rolling Stones have officially revealed the release of their inaugural fine fragrance.

The legendary band, which seems to have either harbored a long-standing ambition to create their own perfume or simply wants to bolster their finances, describes RS No. 9 as “a scent that evokes London’s Soho in 1962: a throbbing metropolis bustling with excitement as a new cultural era emerged; a time of discovery and freedom, when anything could – and did – happen.”

A daring scent for those who seek to channel The Rolling Stones’ iconic swagger

While we can imagine that Soho had an invigorating aroma in 1962, we remain skeptical about some of the claims, so we turned to local experts for insights. According to sensory sources, the notoriously gritty Central London neighborhood actually presented a “lingering smell of soot, frying, and pee.” Another witness added, “I don’t recall picking up on the patchouli.”

Nonetheless, the press release boldly asserts, “Bourbon-infused notes of velvet swagger onto center stage, as warm leather brawls under electric musk while sultry oud seductively lingers.” It further claims that “deep, earthy oak adds a mysterious, intimate layer that echoes The Rolling Stones’ ability to THRILL audiences.” Right you are, guv’nor!

Regrettably, the late Charlie Watts won’t be able to experience “the perfect fragrance for those who dare to be different,” which will be available for $99.99 for a 100ml bottle just in time for Christmas. Well, as the saying goes, if you try hard enough, you might find what you neither want nor need.
