The Simpsons writers rewrote their scripts collaboratively together. Accordingly, the episode’s majority of the content was not created by the credited writer. Nonetheless, Simon was credited with co-writing the season one episodes “The Telltale Head,” “The Crepes of Wrath,” and “Some Enchanted Evening.” Although the show was supposed to premiere with Some Enchanted Evening, its premiere was delayed due to poor animation.
