West Germany, Spain, Italy, Jordan, the United Kingdom, and the United States were the main filming locations. The Tabernas Desert in Spain’s Almera region, the Cabo de Gata-Njar Natural Park, Bürresheim Castle in West Germany, and Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, England were all used for filming. North Weald Airfield and Stowe School, both in Stowe, Buckinghamshire, were also used in the production. A shorter scene also features the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, Turkey, although only from afar. Furthermore, Venice, Italy is one of the few film locations that match the cinematography.

Venice, where they filmed sequences surrounding the Library in Venice, is one of the most stunning filming sites. Jordan’s Petra is the site of the temple where the Holy Grail was concealed. Monsul Beach, Spain

Southern Spain was the site for some of the most memorable sequences in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Indy and his father were forced to emergency land an aircraft on a sandy beach in one of the sequences from the movie. They were being pursued by hostiles searching for Indy’s map. This scene was shot on Monsul Beach at the Cabo de Gata-Njar Natural Park in the province of Almera, Andalusia, Spain.
