Early Life
Farley Granger was born in San Jose, which is situated in California. His parents are Eva and Farley Earle Granger, Sr. Hanchett Residence Park is located at 1185 Hanchett Avenue. His wealthy father owned a Willys-Overland car dealership, and the family often stayed at their beach house in Capitola. The Granger family was forced to sell both their homes and most of their possessions after the stock market crash in 1929 and moved into an apartment. Eventually, the rest of their belongings were sold at auction to settle their debts, and the elder Granger used the last car on his lot to whisk away the family to Los Angeles in the middle of the night.
