Controversy Related To The Show

It was discovered in December 2019 that chief producer Kim Yong-bum and producing director Ahn Joon-young had switched the rankings of one trainee who was scheduled to make their debut in Wanna One with another trainee who was not initially in the debut lineup.

Additionally, they switched rankings for a student who had initially made it past the first round of elimination with a trainee who had first missed the mark. Later that month, Ahn and Kim were subsequently charged with business fraud and obstruction of justice.

But the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office withdrew the fraud-related accusations in June 2020, citing a lack of evidence.
