The American drama series House of Dragons, which serves as a precursor to the previously airing program Game of Thrones, is currently gaining popularity all over the world. Even though everyone had been so fascinated with Game of Thrones, House of Dragons has earned a special place in the hearts of the viewers.
Fans are always prepared to handle the fresh shocks and surprises each time because each episode brings something new to the viewers. House of Dragons is based on the novel Fire and Blood. While there are some scenes that differ from the original book, most of the story is similar in both novels and series.
As House of Dragons is incomplete without unique and complicated romantic relationships, the fans are most curious about the romantic relationship between Daemon and Rhaenyra.
Daemon and Rhaenyra Relationship Timeline:
Daemon has a niece named Rhaenyra, who is the daughter of King Viserys, the older brother of Daemon. Rhaenyra and Demon are related by blood as uncles and nieces, but their amorous relationship does not reflect the age difference between them. They get along well and even exchange a kiss in a brothel.
Despite the fact that Daemon and Rhaenyra appear to be dating and married, they have already been married. Rhea Royce was one of Daemon’s two previous wives, whom he eventually killed. Then he marries Laena Velaryon once more, who is Laenor Velaryon’s sister and Rhaenyra Targaryens’ spouse.
After a few days, Rhaenyra Targaryen learns that her spouse, Laenor Velaryon, is gay. The couple was married so that they might form a political alliance. Rhaenyra assures everyone that Laenor has passed away as he secretly leaves with his lover Ser Qarl. Then, Rhaenyra gives birth to three kids with Harvin Strong, her lover, who is a captain of City’s Watch and a knight. Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey are the three children born to Rhaenyra Targaryens and Harvin Strong.
On the other side, Daemon also develops feelings for Leanor Velaryon’s sister Laena. Rhaena and Baela Targaryen, the stunning twin daughters, are born to both parents. Daemon talks about his romantic relationship with Rhaenyra, which he could never have with Rhea Royce, even in episode 7 of House of Dragons.
When Daemon covertly gives Rhaenyra a scroll containing the location and exit route from the castle, the two of them begin to feel attracted to one another. In front of Daemon just before that day, Rhaenyra exposes her soul by telling him that she is under pressure to get married due to political arrangements.
Both Daemon and Rhaenyra sneak out at night, totally frightened because they would be in a huge problem if anyone finds them out of the castle at night. Daemon takes her to show the city. They watch a play on the successor of the iron throne. Then both of them go to the brothel, drink, and then share a kiss while engaged in sexual activity but don’t have sex.
While both of them leave the brothel, Otto finds them coming out of the brothel and informs King Viserys. Rhaenyra then confirms that she did not sleep with the Daemon. Then King Viserys questions Daemon about the same, and he says that they have had sex and he wants to marry her daughter.
The furious king then arranges her marriage with Leanor Velaryon. Rhaenyra Targaryens, the prospective successor of the iron throne, is also a close friend of her father’s second wife, Alicent Hightower. Their close relationship with one another spoils when Alicent wants her son Aegon II Targaryens to become a successor to the iron throne after the king’s death.
This is where clashes start between Alicent and Rhaenyra. Daemon, however, stays at Rhaenyra’s side the entire fight as they previously had sex after Leanor’s fictitious burial.
Does Daemon Cheat on Rhaenyra?
Leanor comes back to apologize to Rhaenyra and also promises her that he can again commit to her and that they can live a happy married life, but Rhaenyra does not accept the same. But Daemon and Rhaenyra are also aware of the fact that if they want to get married, they need to kill Leanor. However, they didn’t kill him and rather faked his death. Soon as a political arrangement, both Rhaenyra and Daemon finally get married in episode 7 of the house of dragons.
Even though Daemon and Rhaenyra have a romantic relationship and also get married, Daemon also has a plan to seduce Rhaenyra and go after King Viserys to get the iron throne. While in the series, it is shown that Daemon and Rhaenyra fall in love with each other, marry, and never cheat on her.
The novel Fire & Blood depicts that Daemon also engages in sexual activities with his mistresses despite the fact that he is already married three times. Since there are some changes between the House of Dragons television series and the book Fire and Blood, both tell the epic tale of Daemon and Rhaenyra’s love, along with the details of their previous relationships and battle for the iron throne.
