SWAT fans get ready to see another banging episode of this season with a new mission. The Special Weapons and Tactics team has been predicted to travel and be on duty this season from the usually buzzing city of Los Angeles to Thailand, and we have been thrilled to see the operations being played at high stakes. The popular SWAT is based on the 1975 show and had been scheduled to premiere in Fall 2022 has left us all waiting for the next episode.
The American crime show plays around the story of Hondo, who leads the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Police Department deployed this special unit with him as the leader since he has been serving in the force for so long. His character as well sees deeply loyal to the police force, and it’s his first priority to help serve the community.
Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson (played by Shemar Moore) also throws light on the African-American community of the show and their relation with the police community. The show has offered us several missions which show us the involvement of the community and how there are tensions between the force and people that need to be eliminated in the real world.
This is one of the reasons why Hondo is considered to be the ideal main character to lead the force. CBS brought back SWAT for its sixth season as part of the network’s fall 2022 schedule. The crime drama TV series is based on the 1975 show and 2003 film of the same name.
Since SWAT is a procedural show, we get to watch the start and end of a case being solved in an hour, and it’s advisable for you to watch the show to get to connect with the characters of the series! Season six features Shemar Moore as Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson, Alex Russell as Jim Street, Jay Harrington as David Deacon Kay, Kenny Johnson as Dominique Luca, David Lim as Victor Tan, Patrick St. Esprit as Commander Robert Hicks, and Rochelle Aytes as Nichelle.
Before Season 6 was announced, we went a bit emotional with Alonso’s last day on the squad and Nichelle getting pregnant. Harrelson’s character is expected to undergo more development as he witnesses the journey of becoming a parent. To add onto the season’s end, we went swoony as Luca was decided by Nichelle and Hondo.
SWAT Season 6 Episode 5 Spoilers
Season 6 has now shown us some pretty bizarre cases. Episode 5 is expected to, however, be crazier! We all can agree that we do miss Christina Alonso (played by Lina Esco), who left the show after season 5, but with John Terlesky as the director and Amelia Sims as the writer- Episode 5 or “Unraveling” will give us the buzzing life of shoplifters and how no one is safe even there.
Even though shoplifting and crowds are not a big deal for the SWAT team but when shoplifting is masked by murder, and there are so many people who are a suspect, then it’s definitely going to be a task for the team. By the end of the episode, we might actually see Powell’s development as she tries to get stable with the team.
The previous episodes have shown us that it takes a lot of in-the-moment thinking and quick decision-making to help solve a case in the SWAT team- and fans are hoping to see Powell fit in this category as well. Since Hondo is back from Thailand too- we can expect him to perhaps process the case at a slower pace since it’s one of the biggest challenges this season.
The plot of this episode gives us the case of a flash-mob robbery of a department store, but the case isn’t that simple since Powell is still in her rebel mode and not answering orders. Will this side of her ruin the case? Well, we can’t wait to find out.
