The Plot Of A Snow Capped Christmas
In the beginning, we are introduced to Claire Benson. She is an excellent figure skater, and she steps in the mountains. She is very disturbed, and that makes her lose motivation to do anything. Her coach almost drove her to the edge. She is forced to spend some time in the picture-perfect mountain regions of Western Canada. She has been told to stay in a sports rehabilitation center located in the romantic mountains.
She has to stay up there during Christmas, which is just some weeks away. When she is resting alone in the mountains, she meets Luke, an ex-Canadian hockey player and a single father. He had to retire early from the game because of an injury. Although he wanted to keep playing the game, he is now distanced from it. Currently, he spends his time running the local ice fishing and tackle shop. He also takes very good care of his daughter and does everything possible to raise her well.
As the film goes on, the pair starts to spend more time with each other, and they start to share their story. After hearing stories from each other, they understand there are a lot of similarities between them.
Luke considers himself a true man of the Canadian north. And as a gentleman would do, Luke tells and teaches Claire all the activities that happen in the winter. Luke tells her these activities are a must to enjoy true Canadian winter. From snowmobiling and ice fishing to chopping down a real Christmas tree for the holidays, they find immense pleasure in participating in these activities.
Claire also inspired Luke to play the game that he loved once. She tells him to get in the field again. After this, Luke meets up with his former teammates and decides to play another game. Luke finally plays a game of hockey with his teammates on Christmas eve. They involve in playing the game of hockey in true Canadian tradition by playing on the ice-covered lake.
But Luke and his daughter’s Christmas is truly complete when Claire rejoins them in the mountains after learning there is more to life than only competing.
