The 20th season of Strictly Come Dancing has finally ended with a terrific win against the finalist Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal. Since 2004, Strictly Come Dancing has been presenting professional ballroom dancers who compete against each other to win the Glitterball Trophy.
The competition has never been easy, though. From Salsa to Samba, competitors portray all the dancing skills that they possess on the stage to wow the panel of four judges and the public, who later voted to make their favorite couple win the trophy.
This year also, the most talented and promising contestant couples joined Strictly Come Dancing, but only four of them could make it to the final. Hamza and Jowita won this season and were overwhelmed while receiving the trophy.
Saturday night of 17th December was crucial for all Strictly Come Dancing contestants and fans, but when the winner was announced, fans did not seem very happy about the results and delivered their concerns through social media. Therefore, here is all you need to know about the finalists and the scores they received in the final round of Strictly Come Dancing.
Finalists of Strictly Come Dancing and their leaderboard scores:
The ballroom and Latin dance reality show has received so much popularity since the day of its release. The show also received a Guinness World Record award in 2010 for being the most popular reality show that features promising talents on screen and lets the public decide the best among all other participants.
This year, 15 couple participants showcased their talents, but 11 got eliminated as a result of Public Votes and Leader Board scores. Every year to identify the winner, leaderboard scores get merged with the public votes, and the one with the most scores wins the show.
But this year, it seems that judges have not considered leaderboard scores while declaring the winner. So here’s the list of the finalists of Strictly Come Dancing contestants and their scores on the leaderboard.

Controversy over public votes of Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal
Fans anticipated Fleur and Vitto, who had the highest leaderboard score, to win the trophy because Hamza and Jowita had lower leaderboard scores than the other finalists. However, when Hamza and Jowita were declared the winners, people were incensed and demanded the list of public votes.
Strictly Come Dancing has never revealed public votes since season one, but this year fans want to know if their votes were used correctly or not. Fans have asked BBC to disclose the results as ITV does, but BBC has not yet responded. Only time will tell whether BBC releases the total number of votes the finalists received.
Until then, let’s celebrate Hamza and Jowita’s happiness, who worked incredibly hard to win the Glitterball trophy. Let us also cheer and applaud the other finalists for their outstanding performances throughout the show.
