Kanye West Rebukes Nail Technician for “Painful” Pedicure Experience, Abruptly Ends Service
During a private pedicure session, Kanye West scolded a nail technician, accusing her of causing him pain. The incident was briefly captured by West’s friend and collaborator, Ty Dolla $ign, who later deleted the video he posted on Instagram.
In the video clip, the 46-year-old rapper was shown seated with one foot in a wash basin while the pedicurist attended to his other foot. Suddenly, West exclaimed, “Ah! Whoa,” and flinched in discomfort.
Despite the technician’s attempts to explain and reassure him that he was okay, West was visibly unhappy. He withdrew his foot, stood up, and declared, “Nah, I’m not going to continue. I can’t – I’m not going to do it.”
The technician pointed to the tool she was using, attempting to clarify, but West interrupted, sternly saying, “Oh, no, I’m not going to do it. It’s my toes. It’s my toes. It’s my toes! I’m not going to do it. That hurt.”
Despite another effort by the technician to demonstrate the process, West instructed her to “wrap it up” because he was “not going to do it.” When she inquired about his hands, he responded with a firm “Nope! Thank you very much.”
Ty Dolla $ign, who was seated nearby, looked uncomfortable and stared blankly at the camera after witnessing the awkward exchange.
However, West appeared unfazed and casually joined his friend to engage in an unrelated conversation, seemingly discussing music. When asked about it, Ty Dolla $ign responded in a deadpan manner, saying, “Yeah, that part.”
It’s worth noting that West had spent much of the summer walking barefoot through the streets of Europe, a choice that had garnered significant attention. Some speculated that this was a deliberate move on his part to make a statement or stage a PR stunt.
Jason Lee, who had worked closely with West in 2022 as his head of media and partnerships, suggested that Kanye’s barefoot escapades were a strategic move to maintain his public presence amid controversies. Lee believed that the next time West wore shoes, it would likely be part of a project he designed.
