Chrissy Metz and Bradley Collins have decided to part ways. The couple, known for their roles in “This Is Us,” released a joint statement on social media, confirming their official separation.
On their social media accounts, they wrote, “After three and a half years together, we’ve chosen to amicably end our romantic relationship.” “While our love for each other remains strong, we believe that this is the best path for both of us. We still have books to write, songs to sing, and a special friendship that will continue to keep us in each other’s lives forever.”
Chrissy Metz, who is well-known for playing Kate Pearson in “This Is Us,” also won praise for her singing performances, both on the program and at award shows. For her iconic role, she was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. Singer-songwriter Bradley Collins is also well-known.
When I Talk to God, I Talk About You is a book that Metz and Collins co-authored in February. It emphasizes the value of prayer in children’s lives and promotes its practice.
“The book tells you, ‘Yes, you can.’ You can pray for your pets, you can pray for your grandparents, and regardless of your age, you can have a relationship with God,” Collins said during an appearance on Today. He wondered who could pray after witnessing his grandfather’s illness as a young child.
“My grandfather was very sick when I was growing up, and I didn’t know if I could pray or not.”
In addition to the book, the couple also collaborated on a collection of lullabies titled “Prayed for This Day.”
“I taught preschool, and I come from a very large family… the way I was raised, my grandmother always said that singing is like praying twice. And I just thought that was appropriate. And then we were just doing instrumentals for the audiobook I was narrating, and then the words and the songs just flowed naturally,” Metz explained.
“We wrote ten songs in like four days, which is quite remarkable for both of us,” she added.
Metz and Collins initially crossed paths on the dating app Bumble and later made their relationship public on Instagram in 2020. A year later, Metz humorously discussed their relationship during an interview on Andy Cohen’s Sirius XM radio show.
“Who would have thought I’d end up on old Bumble? But I have no shame,” Metz joked during the 2021 interview.
