Olivia Rodrigo to Offer Intimate Performance in Downtown Los Angeles This Week. American Express made an exciting announcement on Sunday, revealing that singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo will be treating its cardholders to a special one-off performance at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles on Monday night.
Fans eager to attend will need to act swiftly, as ticket sales for “An Evening With Olivia Rodrigo” are set to go live at 10 a.m. PT on Sunday, just an hour after the 9 a.m. announcement. Tickets are priced at $25, with proceeds benefiting Fund 4 Good, Rodrigo’s newly established nonprofit organization.
For those who miss out on securing tickets to the 1,600-seat venue, there’s still a chance to experience the magic. The performance will be filmed and subsequently made available to the public as a stream on Olivia Rodrigo’s YouTube channel, beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Tuesday and remaining accessible until Thursday.
During the show, Rodrigo will enchant the audience with songs from her recent “Guts” album while sharing the stories behind their creation. Although specific details about the performance have not been officially confirmed, it is anticipated to be a solo show, reminiscent of her recent three-song set at the Grammy Museum, where she accompanied herself on piano or guitar.
American Express describes this event at the ornate Theatre at Ace Hotel, formerly known as the United Artists Theatre in its heyday, as an “immersive concert experience.” It promises to bring some of the most iconic moments from “Guts” to life, complete with Instagram-worthy photo opportunities, including a recreation of the “Bad Idea Right?” music video.
This event is part of American Express’s Member Week, similar to the Jack Harlow performance held under the same umbrella in New York last year.
While Olivia Rodrigo’s world tour with her band is still a few months away, it is highly anticipated. The tour is scheduled to commence on February 23, 2024, at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs and will conclude with a four-night residency at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on August 13-14 and 16-17. Additional shows were added shortly after the initial tour announcement, including an extended run at the Los Angeles Forum. All tour dates sold out rapidly.
Currently, “Guts” holds the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 chart in its third week, following its impressive debut in September with 302,000 units sold. The album is expected to be a strong contender at the 2024 Grammys, with glowing reviews across the board. Variety described it as “one of the year’s canniest, most delightful albums.”
