Travis Barker took a rare step that few celebrities take, unveiling the name he and Kourtney Kardashian have chosen for their upcoming son ahead of his birth. During an appearance on the One Life One Chance podcast, the drummer disclosed the name they’ve decided on, as well as their baby’s anticipated arrival date.
In the interview, Barker confirmed the previously swirling baby name speculations by revealing that he and Kardashian are indeed planning to name their son Rocky. When it comes to their due date, Barker shared with E! that it falls either on Halloween or within the first week of November.
Back in July, Barker had mentioned that the name Rocky was under consideration, citing the inspiration behind it as a tribute to Suicidal Tendencies’ guitarist, Rocky George.
Notably, Barker and Kardashian have chosen to approach their pregnancy journey in a distinct manner compared to other members of the Kardashian-Jenner family. They were quick to announce the sex of their baby upon revealing the pregnancy. This differs from the approach of Kylie Jenner, who kept her first pregnancy hidden and only disclosed that she was expecting a baby girl after the birth of her eldest daughter, Stormi.
Barker and Kardashian also allowed parts of their fertility journey to be documented for the reality show “The Kardashians.” In a recent interview with Vanity Fair Italy in October, Kardashian shared the details of how baby Rocky was conceived naturally. Addressing criticisms about her pregnancy at the age of 40, Kardashian expressed her perspective, stating, “Those comments don’t affect me. To those who make them, I just say: ‘How could you question God’s plan?’ Because that’s how I see this pregnancy. It arrived when both Travis and I no longer even thought about it, and when I had stopped fertility treatment.”
She added, “The decision to try [IVF] was almost a non-choice, in the sense that I was pushed towards it as if it were the only option. The truth is, I felt like I was doing something that wasn’t right for me. My intuition was telling me that it wasn’t suitable for me—I don’t even take medicine, imagine—that it was working against my body rather than for it.”
Kardashian emphasized, “I knew deep down that it wasn’t the right thing. I kept telling Travis: ‘If we’re meant to have a baby, then it’s just going to happen.’ And that’s how it was. When we stopped forcing the process, then it happened.”
