Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt has expanded her circle of sisters, recently becoming a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority at Spelman College. The daughter of Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Zahara embraced her new sorority with a spirited introduction, sharing, “My name is Zahara Marley Jolie. And [I] landed all the way from the Golden State in the city full of angels: Los Angeles, California.”
A video from Essence captures the sophomore, now 18, dancing alongside her fellow Alpha Kappa Alpha sisters, exuding enthusiasm and camaraderie. Zahara joined the Mu Pi Chapter of the historic Black sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha, established in 1908, with the Mu Pi chapter founded in 1979.
Embarking on her undergraduate journey at Spelman College in 2022, Zahara was warmly welcomed on move-in day with her mother, Angelina Jolie, 48, by her side. The Eternals actress had previously shared her excitement on Instagram, posting a snapshot of Zahara and her Spelman classmates, expressing pride in her daughter’s new chapter.
Brad Pitt, 59, exclusively shared with PEOPLE his joy at Zahara attending Spelman College, describing it as a “really beautiful” experience. During Zahara’s move-in, Angelina Jolie and Zahara met with Spelman College President Dr. Helene Gayle and Vice President for Student Affairs Darryl Holloman, capturing the milestone with shared photos on Instagram.
Jolie, in conversation with Gayle during the visit, humorously admitted to potential tears, saying, “I’m gonna start crying! I have not started crying yet.” Gayle playfully responded, hinting at an upcoming event designed to evoke emotions, to which Jolie replied, “I’m holding it together.”
The actress, known for her roles on and off-screen, is also a mother to twins Vivienne and Knox (15), Shiloh (17), Pax (19), and Maddox (22), further solidifying the Jolie-Pitt family’s connection to the Spelman legacy.
