According to reports, Tiffany Haddish has been placed under arrest. The actress, 43, was reportedly arrested on Friday morning and charged with DUI after it was claimed she fell asleep behind the wheel of an operating car, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD).
At about 5:45 a.m., authorities responded to a report. Local time states that the car was still running when the woman stopped in the middle of Beverly Drive. Haddish is anticipated to be released later today, according to BHPD. The Laugh Factory in West Hollywood hosted a free Thanksgiving feast for the community for 43 years, and Haddish had performed there the night before, according to TMZ, which broke the news first.
When PEOPLE asked for comments, Haddish’s agents did not get back to us right away. The Girls Trip star was previously detained by Peachtree City police officers in Georgia in January 2022 for a DUI-related incident. This most recent arrest comes after that event.
Around 2:30 a.m. on January 14, authorities responded to a 911 call—the local time regarding a driver on Highway 74 who was allegedly dozing off behind the wheel. Officers found a car that matched, stopped a car, and arrested Haddish for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Without any problems, she was taken to the Fayette County Jail.
The comedian is expected to appear in court on December 4 for the case, according to TMZ. Haddish hilariously addressed the earlier incident while guest hosting The Ellen DeGeneres Show in April 2022, quipping, “Yes, I did get charged with a DUI, which stands for Dumb Unfortunate Incidents.”
