Madonna’s partner, Josh Popper, took center stage with the support of over 14,000 enthusiastic fans! The boxing coach made a special appearance as a guest judge at the pop star’s Celebration Tour in Brooklyn, New York, on Wednesday night. Joining her on the Barclays Center stage, Popper, 30, and Madonna, 65, shared the spotlight as they held up scorecards and judged a performance of her 1990 classic, “Vogue.”
Seated side by side, the couple energetically fanned the performers with their scorecards, swaying to the beat and reveling in the music. The duo even shared a kiss during this musical spectacle. While Madonna dazzled in a shiny silver fitted costume, Popper chose a more laid-back look, sporting a black Diplomats Decide graphic t-shirt and jeans.
Popper became the latest guest judge in Madonna’s lineup, following the likes of Debi Mazar, FKA Twigs, Donatella Versace, Julia Fox, Arca, and Diplo. The duo’s onstage chemistry continued to shine as Popper made an earlier appearance in an on-screen video during Madonna’s performance of her 1992 song, “Erotica.”
Officially confirming their relationship on Instagram in February, Madonna and Popper, owner of the New York City gym Bredwinners, have been spotted together at various public events, including one of his N.Y.C. matches and a piano recital in April.
The Brooklyn concert, part of Madonna’s North American leg following dates in Europe, marked her first performance of the tour in the U.S. The tour, spanning 79 stops in total, is set to conclude in Mexico in April. Madonna initiated her highly anticipated world tour in London in October, reflecting on her challenging year during the opening night. Despite a summer hospitalization for a serious bacterial infection, Madonna expressed gratitude for her children’s support, emphasizing the role they played in her recovery and survival.
