“On New Year’s Eve in Los Angeles, Ian Ziering, who is most known for his role in “Beverly Hills, 90210,” got into a tense daytime fight with a bunch of mini-motorcycle riders on Hollywood Boulevard. The shocking incident was caught on camera and circulated on TMZ, showing the 59-year-old actor being attacked by a group of riders wearing helmets.
Ziering posted a video message on Instagram on Monday detailing the unsettling encounter. He described how the altercation started when one of the riders aggressively approached him while he was stuck in traffic. Ziering got out of his car to see if there was any damage, but he was able to avoid getting into a physical fight out of self-defense.

In the video, Ziering is seen being attacked by as many as four helmet-wearing attackers who punch and kick him before he quickly flees across the street. Even more, one attacker pursued Ziering onto the sidewalk with a motorcycle helmet in hand, using it as a weapon until he managed to escape.
While expressing relief that he and his daughter were unharmed, Ziering expressed grave concerns about the growing boldness of these groups to interfere with public safety. In his Instagram post, he emphasized the need for efficient law enforcement responses while highlighting the larger problem of hooliganism on the streets.
When USA TODAY contacted the Los Angeles Police Department, they acknowledged that an investigation into the incident, which happened at around 3 p.m., was still underway, but they did not confirm the identity of the victim. On Sunday, walk along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, close to the well-known Hollywood and Highland Corner.
Lt. Letisia Ruiz, a media representative for the LAPD, clarified that the mini-motorcycle riders’ careless driving caused an accident with the victim’s car and an altercation that followed. Ziering emphasized the need for resources to stop similar lawlessness in his final Instagram post calling on law enforcement and city officials to act decisively against it.
“As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable that groups can freely engage in this kind of behavior, causing fear and chaos, while the response from authorities seems insufficient,” Ziering said. “I have always been an advocate for standing up against intimidation and misconduct, and this incident reinforces my belief in the importance of personal and community safety.”
