Rachel Lindsay hinted at marital challenges with Bryan Abasolo just a few weeks before he officially filed for divorce. The former “Bachelorette” opened up about their relationship on the December 21 episode of “The Viall Files” podcast with host Nick Viall, revealing that they were leading “totally different lives.”
Lindsay delved into the details of Abasolo’s hectic schedule as a sole practitioner, leaving the house at 8 a.m. and returning around 9 or 9:30 p.m. She emphasized their contrasting lifestyles, with her having more free time, especially since her departure from “Extra.” Lindsay expressed her efforts to secure a second job and attend events, stating, “So, we’re just in two totally different places.”
The reality star acknowledged the challenges of maintaining their privacy while also hinting at the difficulties in capturing moments together. She explained, “I just [was like], ‘I want to keep this for ourselves,’ and, you know, marriage has ups and downs, but you never know when we’re good or when we’re not because we never put it out there.”
Lindsay also disclosed that attempts to overlap their professional lives with the chiropractor revealed their inability to work well together. She emphasized the need to protect the marriage and acknowledged that not every couple can successfully navigate such challenges.
In addition to the ups and downs in their relationship, Lindsay admitted to the couple’s struggles in conceiving a child. The pair, who initially met on season 13 of “The Bachelorette” in 2017, got engaged after Lindsay rejected Peter Krause.
Abasolo officially filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split. He listed New Year’s Eve as the date of separation and requested spousal support in his filing. In a statement, Abasolo shared, “After more than 4 years of marriage, Rachel and I have made the difficult decision to part ways and start anew. My parents have been married forever, and I’m a family man, but sometimes loving yourself and your partner means you must let go.”
