Kaley Cuoco, known for her role in “The Flight Attendant,” recently recounted a challenging incident during a flight with her 9-month-old daughter, Matilda, and boyfriend, Tom Pelphrey. The actress shared the story on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” expressing her apprehension about flying with a baby.
Cuoco and Pelphrey took every precaution for a smooth Thanksgiving flight, even bringing a sound machine to help Matilda sleep. However, their efforts were disrupted when a fellow passenger complained about the noise. Cuoco described the steward approaching them and requesting to turn off the sound machine, leaving them surprised and uneasy.
Feeling the tension, Cuoco humorously mentioned Pelphrey’s sarcastic suggestion to ask the complaining passenger if she wanted to hold their crying child. The actress conveyed their frustration and anger towards the fellow traveler.
To their surprise, upon landing, they discovered the complaining passenger was seated right in front of them. Cuoco shared the awkward encounter when the woman remarked on Matilda’s newfound happiness, prompting Cuoco’s darkly humorous remark about understanding why people end up on crime shows.
Reflecting on the incident with Kimmel, Cuoco expressed the need for more empathy towards parents traveling with babies. She emphasized the challenges of flying with an infant and urged fellow passengers to be more understanding.
Cuoco and Pelphrey, who announced their pregnancy in 2022, welcomed Matilda Carmine Richie Pelphrey in March 2023. In a previous interview, Cuoco revealed that the desire to have children wasn’t on her radar until she met Pelphrey. The actress went through a divorce with ex-husband Karl Cook, finalizing it in June 2022 after three years of marriage.
