Former cameraman Emilio Garcia has filed a lawsuit against rapper Megan Thee Stallion, alleging inadequate compensation and a hostile work environment. Garcia claims he was subjected to fat-shaming and uncomfortable situations, including witnessing Megan having sex with a woman in a car while he was present during a trip abroad.
Garcia expressed feeling frozen and shocked by the incident and was later warned by Megan not to discuss what he saw. He stated feeling uncomfortable and cited a lack of appropriate pay as one of the issues he faced. Additionally, Garcia claimed he was misclassified as an independent contractor and is owed unpaid wages.
Following the incident, Garcia noticed a change in Megan’s behavior towards him, receiving fewer bookings from her team. He also accused her of calling him derogatory names and instructing him not to eat. These allegations paint a picture of a deteriorating work relationship between Garcia and Megan Thee Stallion.
In response to the lawsuit, Megan Thee Stallion’s attorney, Alex Spiro, emphasized that this is solely an employment claim for money, with no sexual harassment allegations. Spiro dismissed the accusations as an attempt to embarrass the rapper and stated that they will address the matter in court.
The lawsuit also involves management company Roc Nation as a defendant, although they have not provided any comment on the matter. This legal dispute between Emilio Garcia and Megan Thee Stallion highlights the complexities of employment relationships in the entertainment industry and raises questions about workplace dynamics and compensation fairness.
