Outer Banks is the story surrounding the incidents taking place at the string of islands off the coast of North Carolina. Created by Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke, this action-adventure mystery drama follows the story of a charismatic orphan teenager, John B, whose dad has been missing ever since he went on his mission to salvage a sunken ship. So, despite his father not returning for 9 months, John B still believes his dad is alive and so with his best friends, called the “Pogues,” he goes on a quest to uncover the secret to his disappearance. But that’s not all! Pilling to their troubles is an ongoing socioeconomic war against the “kooks,” a group of rich kids who will stop at nothing to put a halt to whatever the pogues have set their eyes to.
Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger and has only wanted the fans to ask for more. By the end of season 1, we see that John B has found out that Ward Cameron was actually working with his dad to find the treasure in the sunken ship. And the two get in a dispute over the gold in which Ward ends up killing Big John. Followed by a series of incidents taking place in which Ward finds the gold and plans to smuggle it off to the Bahamas, his son Rafe kills the sheriff whose murder is on pinned on John B. So, now with a bounty on his head and the gold gone, John and Sarah head out in the middle of a storm to getaway. Presumed dead, both of them head off to the Bahamas to get back the gold.
Season 2 Release Date
Three months after its premiere on Netflix, the show was announced to be renewed for a second season back on July 24, 2020. This announcement saw an Instagram post with a caption, “see you in the Bahamas,” which indicates that the plot will now revolve around the Bahamas and Carolina. With an increased schedule time over two locations and the ongoing pandemic imposing its restrictions, the release date is still uncertain. The filming for the same is said to have started back on August 31st, and due to its popularity, we can be certain the release will be sooner rather than later. The Outer Banks Season 2 release date is currently predicted to be around early to mid-2021.

Outer Banks Season 2 Cast
Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline will reprise their roles as John B and Sarah, respectively. Followed by Madison Bailey as Kiara, Jonathan Daviss as Pope, and Rudy Pankow as JJ. The show has set Ward Cameron as the antagonist of season 2, therefore Charles Esten is also likely to return in the show.
One significant addition is of “Lost and Once Upon a Time” star Elizabeth Mitchell who will be playing the role of Limbrey, a compelling woman who is a long-time native of Charleston, seemingly being toxic and menacing in her courteous ways. She even went on to put an Instagram story announcing her addition to the cast and revealing her excitement to work with the gorgeous cast and the talented crew.

As of now, only time can tell how the pogues will react to their friends’ supposed deaths. Revenge and Justice are likely in their heads, and someone will surely pay.
