Mumbai Diaries 26/11: A Tale of Deep Scars

Mumbai Diaries 26/11

On the 12th anniversary of 26/11, Amazon Prime Video has released the teaser of its upcoming medical drama Mumbai Diaries 26/11. Created by Nikhil Advani and Emmay Entertainment, the series will be a bit different than all the other projects based on the same tragedy that occurred in 2008. Usually, all the other shows and movies that were made on the attacks of 26/11 focused solely either on the management team of the hotels or the ways the terrorists slipped into places to bring their deadly ambitions to life. But, Mumbai Diaries 26/11, an Amazon Original, will pay homage to all the frontline heroes-the paramedic staff who witnessed the nightmare in another form.

The teaser of the show makes the viewers see the attacks of 26/11 from the perspective of the frontline heroes and lets us explore their side of it. The show takes us behind the scenes where doctors have some tough decisions to make. The night of terror where the paramedic staff is the sole hope of the wounded and how they tackle the increasing number of victims who keep coming in.

12 years of 26/11

Exactly 12 years ago, back in 2008, a tragedy took place that scarred India at places, it will never be able to heal. The Mumbai terror attacks shook the nation to its core and have been an everlasting incident of fear amongst the people to date. The attack took place when 10 heavily armed terrorists trained by the Pakistan-based terror outfit (LeT) attacked 12 locations in Mumbai, including Taj Mahal Hotel, the Nariman (Chabad), the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus train station on 26 November 2008 that killed 166 people. Out of all the 10 attackers, 9 of them were killed, and the only survivor Ajmal Kasab was arrested and a death sentence was upheld against him. Later on 21 November 2012, he was hanged to death for being guilty of several offenses.

The teaser of the upcoming series shows us the heart-wrenching scenes of injured victims, their numbers keep increasing, and it gets difficult for the doctors to overcome the situation. They don’t have enough time to respond while they’re also in various dilemmas. It’s not easy being a lifesaver, but they’re adamant they’re doing it for the people. The paramedic staff has to respond quickly and make some tough decisions. Mohit Raina’s dialogue “let’s get to work” shows us the determination of the team of doctors that stayed behind the curtains and how they helped people survive the dark night.

It stars Mohit Raina, Konkana Sen Sharma, Tina Desai, and Shreya Dhanwanthary in key roles, and the viewers get to see their glimpses in the released teaser. The show has neither an exact release date as of now nor a trailer. But we hope Amazon Prime Video makes some updates soon and puts an end to our waiting!
